Filoca contains Obeticholic acid, a bile acid regulator indicated to
treat Primary Biliary Cholangitis
Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an autoimmune disease of the liver
It results from a slow, progressive destruction of the small bile ducts of
the liver, causing bile and other toxins to build up in the liver, a
condition called cholestasis.
Obeticholic acid 5 and 10 mg
Obeticholic acid in Filoca reduces bile acid stagnation in the liver and prevents its toxic effects
Obeticholic acid inhibits the production of bile acid and increase the removal of bile acid from the liver
Bile acid regulator works by inhibiting the production of bile acid & increasing the removal of bile acid from the liver
This reduces bile acid stagnation in the liver and prevents its toxic effects
Filoca is used in combination with Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) in adults who have not responded well enough to UDCA or alone in adults who cannot tolerate UDCA
5-10 mg once daily as directed by the physician.

Filoca is administered orally, with or without food

What should I do if I miss the dose of Filoca?
Ans: Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time
